Thomas

Founder & Managing Director

Thomas holds a master in Economics and International Politics, a Prince II certification in project management and is a World Bank trained M&E expert.  His background is in management consulting working as project manager on organisational performance, financial & risk management projects for Deloitte. He then developed a service line offering services to companies and NGOs active in emerging countries, Thomas is one of the people behind the launch of WorldLoop, a social enterprise working to eliminate the negative impacts of e-waste in developing countries by turning it into sustainable human and economic resources. As WorldLoop's Project Director, Thomas supported the start-up of 15 e-recycling companies across Africa, In 2014, Thomas founded Green Crossroads, aiming to support companies in developing sustainable projects in developing countries such as plastic, e-waste and ELV recycling and renewable energy production.  In Belgium, Green Crossroads is active in supporting companies and governments to increase the sustainability of their activities in the field of energy and waste management.

Vincent 

Project Manager

Vincent holds a degree in commercial engineering from Solvay Business School and has gained extensive experience as a project manager. He worked as a financial risk consultant (GECALUX) and project manager (Hendyplan / CESD Community) in which he was responsible for various contracts with the European Commission in Luxembourg. He then worked for 6 years in Bangkok, Thailand, as underwriting manager at Allianz Global Assistance.
In 2014, he moved back to Belgium to support companies in business and project management. At the same time, he started his own company, which offers an ecological alternative to cat litter based on recycled paper waste (Tommy's Gazette) . Vincent joined Green Crossroads in 2017, where he is among others responsible for the development of a hydroelectric power plant in Cameroon (www.hydroboxafrica.com). 

Ward

Consultant

Ward holds a Bachelor International Business Management from Thomas Moore College and Master of Management and Business Administration from VUB University. He has joined Green Crossroads in 2015. 

Ward is a dynamic project consultant who manages to get a mountain of work done in no time. He stands out through his enthusiasm, can-do mentality, customer orientation, proactivity, and boundless commitment.

Since 2015, he has been closely involved in following up several of our projects. He is among others responsible for coordinating international project logistics, financial & operational project follow-up,
and project administration.

Jacques

Entrepreneurship & Recycling expert

 

Jacques is a commercial engineering graduate of the prestigious Solvay Business School in Brussels.

After just one year of work experience, he helped start up one of the leading take back systems for the recycling of packaging material in the world Fost Plus. He then started up a new business unit on glass recycling for one of the major recycling companies in Europe. A few years later, he started his own recycling company, which was sold to the international market leader 10 years later.

 

Today, Jacques is involved in several start-ups as a consultant or a company director and is an expert in closed loop material streams. Last but not least, Jacques grew up in Africa and enjoys every opportunity to help start up exciting projects on the continent where he was born.

Steve

ERP expert

Steve, having over 15 years of experience in the business, is an expert in the guidance of industry and authorities for implementing and optimizing household waste systems worldwide. Having worked at the Belgian Packaging Recovery Organization for household packaging Fost Plus, a non-for-profit organization being part of EXPRA, the Extended Producer Responsibility Alliance, he specialized himself in advisory service activities towards both authorities and industry in inter alia Latin America and Africa.

He is an expert in setting up and/or optimizing EPR schemes with strong focus on public-private partnership. He has a broad experience in project development and optimization, sales, customer services, business relations, management and international collaboration

Patrick

Finance & International business

Born in Rio de Janeiro with a master in Applied Economics and Management of Enterprises at the University of Leuven, Patrick has had a very rich career. He worked in various international companies as account executive, finance manager and CFO. He ended his career as CFO and Secretary of the Board of International Post Corporation end 1999.  Since 2000, Patrick works as an project manager and consultant, advising multinational enterprises, SMEs and (semi-) public enterprises internationally. He has a particular specialty in finance, procurement and logistics and has worked in the energy sector (Belgium), the publishing Industry (France) as well for the (private) postal industry in emerging countries (Mexico, Hong Kong, South Africa). 

Ludo

Legal affairs & Sustainability

 

Ludo has gathered a vast experience as a legal expert in different European and international law topics. As legal and contracts officer at the Belgian Nuclear research centre, he has facilitated large international projects in the environmental and energy field, with a focus on transparency, liability, the precautionary and the polluter pays principle and democratic decision making. Ludo's expertise includes the legal criteria for sustainable development and cradle-to-cradle industrial production, standardization, transition towards sustainable and decentralized energy; drafting, negotiating and implementing complex industrial contracts and legal structures of the social economy. Ludo is also a research associate and guest lecturer at several European universities and has mentored 5 PhD students in energy and environmental law.
